Chromogenic print on copper, headshot, general adversarial network (GAN)

NFT (2021) consists of over a thousand distinct faces derived from my own— the original is embedded in the feed—and a "mechanical Turk". (“A puppet in Turkish attire and with a hookah in its mouth sat before a chessboard placed on a large table. A system of mirrors created the illusion that this table was transparent from all sides. This work mirrors an economy as distinct as it is immaterial as it is alienating as it is adversarial. As a work of representation, I have no plans to distribute the photographs using the ERC-721 token. Their presence as c-prints on copper, scaled to the passport image, demonstrates the non-fungibility inherent in art— online, the series is a cohesive experiment in digital portraiture and the generative image.
